Job details:
- Collect, clean, and validate engineering-related data from multiple sources including sensors, ERP systems, CAD software, and project management tools.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Python-based visualization libraries to track key performance indicators (KPIs) in real time.
- Perform statistical analysis and predictive modeling to forecast equipment performance, maintenance needs, and production outcomes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define data requirements, improve data collection processes, and ensure data integrity across systems.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend data-backed solutions to improve design, manufacturing, and testing processes.
- Automate repetitive data tasks using SQL, Python, or R to increase reporting efficiency and reduce manual errors.
- Support root cause analysis for engineering failures or performance deviations by analyzing historical and real-time data.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for stakeholders, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Stay updated with emerging data analytics trends and technologies relevant to the engineering sector.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field), Computer Science, Statistics, or a quantitative discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within an engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and managing large datasets; experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Hands-on experience with Python or R for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and automation.
- Familiarity with Excel at an advanced level, including pivot tables, macros, and VBA.
- Understanding of engineering data types (e.g., sensor data, CAD outputs, test results) and data lifecycle management.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical audiences.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment in Pune.
