Company Description Team Retrieve Esports (R3TV) is a prominent esports organization with competitive teams across multiple gaming titles. Although the organization shut down in 2022, plans are actively underway for a relaunch and renewed presence in the esports scene. The comeback phase focuses on rebuilding strong competitive rosters, expanding media coverage, and engaging global gaming communities. Applicants will be joining a team in a pivotal growth stage, with opportunities to shape the organization’s narrative and brand identity as it returns to the industry.
Role Description The Reporter role at Team Retrieve Esports is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The Reporter will cover team activities, tournaments, player stories, and industry developments, producing timely and accurate news pieces focused on the organization and the wider esports ecosystem. Daily responsibilities include attending events and scrims, conducting interviews with players and staff, verifying information, and drafting articles and reports aligned with editorial guidelines. The Reporter will collaborate with content, social media, and multimedia teams to create engaging cross-platform coverage, including written stories, short video segments, and highlights. This role also involves monitoring esports trends, identifying story angles, and contributing ideas to strengthen Team Retrieve Esports’ public presence during its comeback phase.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Reporting and News Writing skills, with the ability to produce accurate, clear, and timely esports coverage.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication and Writing skills for interviews, storytelling, and collaboration with internal teams.
- Candidates should possess Multimedia skills, including basic familiarity with video, audio, or digital content tools used in esports journalism.
- Relevant experience in sports or esports journalism, content creation, or media reporting is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of esports culture, major titles, and tournament formats is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Mumbai, manage deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
