(remote) Senior Fullstack Engineer

Your mission

We're looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join our core team and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our architecture and engineering practices through hands-on development. As part of this role, you'll help us improve development velocity by simplifying complexity, reducing knowledge silos, and fostering better technical collaboration.

As a senior individual contributor, you’ll work closely with the Head of Engineering, supporting technical direction and ensuring alignment between implementation and architecture through hands-on execution.

Your profile

Core Responsibilities

• Take hands-on ownership of key initiatives across our fullstack environment, bridging the gap between database and frontend with performance-sensitive API design and pragmatic use of GraphQL, performance-sensitive query implementation, and scalable architecture decisions
• Improve performance, evolve our current GraphQL setup, and simplify the hybrid Hasura-Yoga architecture to reduce technical debt
• Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation
• Collaborate closely with teammates and mentor through pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
• Introduce and enforce best practices, and drive continuous system-level improvement
  
  

What You Bring



Must-Haves:

• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining production systems
• Strong fullstack experience, with confidence across backend (Python, Node.js), databases (Postgres), and React/Next.js frontend—including experience designing and evolving GraphQL APIs
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Self-directed and execution-focused
• Early Stage Startup Experience

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with technologies like Hasura, Yoga GraphQL Server, Prisma, and schema stitching
• Experience in system-level refactoring and performance optimization
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, Docker and continuous delivery
• Experience in ClimateTech, geospatial data, or scientific computing environments
  
  

Logistics

• Reports directly to the Head of Engineering
• Remote within CET ± 2 h, 3x year team offsites + optional workshops
• High autonomy, rapid iteration, and collaborative team work
• Work together with the Tech team: Senior Frontend + UX Engineer, Working Student QA Engineer, Data Operations Engineer, Head of Engineering, Head of Product Intelligence
