About The Role
We are seeking experienced software engineers at the tech lead level to join our dynamic team working on groundbreaking projects related to Large Language Model (LLM) evaluation and training datasets. This role involves contributing to the development of verifiable software engineering tasks derived from public repository histories, utilizing a synthetic, human-in-the-loop approach. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with high-quality open-source projects, particularly those hosted on GitHub, and possess a passion for advancing AI-driven software engineering solutions. Your responsibilities will include hands-on software development, environment automation, issue triaging, and evaluating test coverage and quality to ensure the robustness of datasets used for training LLMs.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
- Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with a solid understanding of modern development practices.
- Experience with Git version control, Docker containerization, and setting up software pipelines.
- Ability to comprehend and navigate complex codebases across various programming languages and frameworks.
- Comfortable running, modifying, and testing real-world projects locally.
- Experience contributing to or evaluating open-source projects is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and triage issues across trending open-source libraries hosted on GitHub, identifying areas for improvement and testing.
- Set up and configure development environments, including Dockerization and environment setup, to streamline workflows.
- Evaluate unit test coverage and quality within repositories to ensure comprehensive testing standards.
- Modify and execute codebases locally to assess the performance of LLMs in bug-fixing and code understanding scenarios.
- Collaborate closely with research teams to identify repositories and issues that pose challenges for LLMs, aiding in dataset creation and evaluation.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of automation tools and testing frameworks used in dataset development.
