About The Company
Founded with the mission to revolutionize the AI industry, Turing is one of the world's fastest-growing AI companies dedicated to accelerating the development and deployment of advanced AI systems. Our innovative approach combines cutting-edge research with practical engineering solutions, enabling us to address complex challenges in artificial intelligence and machine learning. We foster a dynamic, collaborative environment that encourages innovation, continuous learning, and impactful contributions to the AI ecosystem. At Turing, we are committed to building a diverse team of talented professionals who are passionate about shaping the future of AI-driven technology.
About The Role
We are seeking experienced software engineers at the tech lead level to join our pioneering project focused on building large language model (LLM) evaluation and training datasets tailored for realistic software engineering problems. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of software engineering and AI research, directly contributing to the development of datasets that enhance the capabilities of LLMs in understanding and solving real-world coding challenges. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with high-quality public GitHub repositories, and possess a strong background in automating development environments, triaging issues, and evaluating test coverage and quality. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with researchers to identify challenging repositories, design evaluation strategies, and potentially lead junior engineers in project execution.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with proven expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript. Strong familiarity with version control systems such as Git, containerization tools like Docker, and basic software pipeline setup is essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to understand and navigate complex codebases, modify and run projects locally, and assess code quality and test coverage effectively. Experience contributing to open-source projects or evaluating code in a collaborative environment is highly desirable. Additional experience in LLM research, automation tools, or developer tools development will be considered a plus.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and triage GitHub issues across trending open-source libraries to identify relevant challenges for LLM evaluation.
- Set up and configure development environments, including Dockerization and environment management, to facilitate efficient testing and evaluation.
- Assess and improve unit test coverage and code quality within repositories.
- Modify, run, and debug codebases locally to evaluate the performance of LLMs in bug-fixing and code understanding scenarios.
- Collaborate with research teams to design datasets and identify repositories that pose challenges for LLMs, contributing to dataset diversity and coverage.
- Lead or mentor junior engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and collaborative problem-solving within the team.
Benefits
Joining Turing provides the opportunity to work remotely in a flexible environment, allowing you to balance your professional and personal commitments.
