About The Role
We are seeking experienced Software Engineers (SWE Bench – Data Engineer / Data Science) to join our team and contribute to benchmark-driven evaluation projects focused on real-world data engineering and data science workflows. This role involves hands-on work with production-like datasets, designing and building data pipelines, and conducting data science tasks to evaluate and enhance the performance of advanced AI systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong foundations in data engineering and data science, with the ability to work across various stages of data preparation, analysis, and model-related workflows within complex codebases. You will collaborate closely with researchers and engineers to develop challenging, real-world data engineering and data science tasks that push the capabilities of AI systems forward.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Data Scientist, or Software Engineer with a focus on data workflows.
- Proficiency in Python for data engineering and data science tasks.
- Demonstrable experience with data processing, analysis, and model-related workflows.
- Strong understanding of machine learning and fundamental data science concepts.
- Experience working with both structured and unstructured data sources.
- Ability to navigate, understand, and modify complex, real-world codebases.
- Proven ability to write readable, reusable, well-documented, and maintainable code.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly with algorithmic or data-intensive challenges.
- Strong communication skills in spoken and written English.
Responsibilities
- Work with structured and unstructured datasets to support SWE Bench-style evaluation tasks.
- Design, develop, and validate data pipelines used in benchmarking and evaluation workflows.
- Perform data processing, feature engineering, analysis, and validation for data science applications.
- Write, test, and modify Python scripts to process data and support experimental workflows locally.
- Evaluate data quality, transformations, and outputs to ensure correctness and reproducibility.
- Create clean, well-documented, and reusable data workflows suitable for benchmarking purposes.
- Participate in code reviews to uphold high standards of code quality, clarity, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with research and engineering teams to design real-world data engineering and data science challenges for AI systems.
