Role Overview
We are seeking a Remittance Review Analyst to support the monthly review, reconciliation, and validation of loan servicer remittance reporting across multiple portfolios and securitizations. This role sits on the buy‑side, with responsibility for independently validating servicer‑reported data, loan‑level cash activity, and ownership-related reporting impacting investor and internal reporting.
The ideal candidate has direct experience reviewing loan servicer remittances, reconciling loan‑level data, and managing the impact of trades, transfers, and securitizations on remittance eligibility and cash flow reporting.
Key ResponsibilitiesRemittance Review & Cash Reconciliation- Review and reconcile monthly remittance reports from multiple loan servicers simultaneously
- Validate deal‑level and loan‑level balances, collections, and cash movements
- Perform detailed Excel‑based checks to confirm reported activity aligns with expected calculations
- Break down incoming wires and cash receipts, clearly identifying principal, interest, servicing fees, advances, and expense categories
Loan‑Level & Servicing Analysis- Analyze large loan‑level datasets and identify key servicing data fields required for accurate reporting
- Validate proper payment allocation using paid‑through dates, next due dates, and ownership status
- Review servicing activity related to service transfers, interim reporting periods, and newly boarded loans or portfolios
Deal, Trade & Ownership Activity- Support onboarding of new securitizations and newly acquired or transferred loan portfolios
- Review loan sale, repurchase, and trade activity, ensuring ownership changes and cash movements are reflected correctly in remittances
- Identify loans that should be excluded from a given remittance due to trade timing or ownership changes and flag discrepancies
Process Management & Controls- Manage and organize large volumes of servicer reports and supporting data each month
- Investigate discrepancies by tracing issues back to servicer reporting and underlying loan‑level data
- Coordinate with servicers to raise questions, resolve issues, and obtain corrected reporting as needed
- Document review results, exceptions, and resolutions to support internal controls and investor reporting
Required Qualifications- 3–8+ years of experience working directly with loan servicer remittance reporting
- Prior experience in asset management operations, structured finance operations, private credit middle office, or servicer oversight
- Strong understanding of loan‑level servicing data, payment application logic, and ownership changes
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including:
- SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, IF/IFS
- XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH
- Text and date functions
- Filters, sorting, conditional formatting, and pivot tables
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to evaluate nuanced servicing and reporting issues independently
Preferred Experience- Exposure to securitizations (ABS / RMBS / private credit vehicles)
- Experience reviewing servicing activity related to service transfers and loan trades
- Prior involvement in investor or internal portfolio reporting
