Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Remittance Review Analyst (Buy-Side/Asset Manager) located in Mumbai. The role involves overseeing and analyzing remittance processes, reviewing financial data, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements, and identifying discrepancies. You will also work closely with internal teams to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency in remittance operations while providing actionable insights to enhance financial outcomes.

This role requires prior hands‑on experience reviewing loan servicer remittance reports and independently validating loan‑level data, cash activity, and ownership reporting on the buy‑side.
Candidates without direct remittance review experience will not be considered.
Role SummaryWe are hiring a Remittance Review Analyst to independently review and reconcile monthly remittance reporting received from multiple loan servicers across active portfolios and securitizations. This individual acts as a control function between servicers, trustees, and internal stakeholders to ensure loan‑level and deal‑level reporting accuracy.
The role requires deep familiarity with loan‑level servicing data, payment application logic, ownership changes, and securitization reporting nuances.
Non‑Negotiable Responsibilities
Monthly Remittance Review- Independently review monthly loan servicer remittance reports across multiple portfolios
- Reconcile loan‑level and deal‑level balances, collections, and cash movements
- Perform Excel‑based validations of reported principal, interest, servicing fees, advances, and expenses
- Break down incoming cash wires and tie activity directly back to servicer and loan‑level reporting
Loan‑Level Servicing Validation- Analyze large loan‑level datasets to identify key servicing data fields required for accurate reporting
- Validate correct payment application using paid‑through dates, next due dates, and loan status
- Identify inconsistencies in servicing data and remittance logic
Ownership, Trades & Transfers- Review loan sale, repurchase, and trade activity and confirm correct ownership treatment in remittance reporting
- Identify loans that should be excluded from a remittance due to ownership changes or trade timing
- Review servicing activity related to service transfers, interim reporting periods, and newly boarded loans
Issue Resolution & Documentation- Investigate discrepancies by tracing issues back to servicer reports and underlying loan‑level data
- Work directly with servicers to raise questions, request corrections, and resolve reporting issues
- Clearly document review results, exceptions, and resolutions to support internal controls and investor reporting
Required Experience (Strict)Candidates must meet all of the following:
- 3+ years of direct experience reviewing loan servicer remittance reports
- Prior experience in asset management operations, structured finance operations, private credit middle office, or servicer oversight
- Hands‑on experience validating loan‑level servicing data (not summary‑level only)
- Demonstrated experience reviewing remittances involving loan trades, ownership changes, and service transfers
Candidates without direct remittance review experience will not be considered, regardless of broader finance or accounting background.
Required Technical Skills- Advanced Excel proficiency, including:
- SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, IF/IFS
- XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH
- Text and date functions
- Filters, sorting, conditional formatting, pivot tables
- Ability to work with large loan‑level datasets and identify reporting inconsistencies
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple reporting cycles concurrently
Preferred Background- Experience supporting securitized vehicles (ABS, RMBS, private credit)
- Prior exposure to investor reporting and internal control environments
- Experience working across multiple loan servicers simultaneously
What Success Looks Like- Servicer remittance issues are proactively identified, clearly explained, and resolved
- Loan‑level balances and cash activity tie cleanly to expected outcomes
- Ownership, trade, and transfer impacts are reflected correctly and consistently
- Review work is clearly documented and defensible for audit and investor reporting purposes
