Position Overview

We're seeking an experienced product leader to join our team as our Head of Product. You'll directly shape our product strategy and roadmap, partnering closely with our CEO Charlie to expand the vision and reach of Remento.

This role is hands-on, requiring someone equally passionate about strategy and tactical execution. You’ll move rapidly from defining and testing product hypotheses to analyzing data yourself, and making informed decisions quickly. The ideal candidate thrives in an environment that is lean, scrappy, and focused on fast experimentation and iterative improvement.

You'll also need to ensure that our retention and engagement strategies naturally drive organic growth, habit formation, and word-of-mouth sharing, building long-term network effects that amplify customer acquisition rather than relying solely on isolated engagement.

This role is designed for someone genuinely energized by the pace and resourcefulness required at early-stage startups. If your comfort zone is primarily managing large teams or extensive resources found in big tech companies, this role likely isn’t a good fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with our CEO Charlie to define the product vision, company strategy, and product roadmap.
  • Conduct rigorous customer discovery and segmentation, using direct user interviews and data-driven experiments to inform product decisions.
  • Build and lead a high-performing product team, beginning with hiring and collaborating closely with a senior product designer to ensure accessible, user-friendly experiences, particularly for our older customer demographic.
  • Own the full product lifecycle from ideation and research, to prototyping and launch, ensuring seamless collaboration between engineering, design, marketing, and customer success.
  • Develop retention strategies that actively fuel organic growth, habit formation, and sustainable network effects.
  • Establish and personally manage analytics capabilities, ensuring insights drive strategic and tactical decisions without reliance on extensive analytics resources or teams.
  • Collaborate directly with marketing to optimize growth, user acquisition, and revenue through product-driven insights and positioning.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years in leadership roles.
  • Proven track record building successful consumer-facing products, especially those focused on sustained engagement, retention, and organic growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in lean, fast-paced startup environments, personally executing experiments, analyzing results, and rapidly iterating with limited resources.
  • Strong analytical skills and hands-on experience deriving actionable insights from user data and analytics tools. Must be comfortable directly managing data infrastructure in resource-constrained environments.
  • Proven success in developing engagement strategies that drive organic user growth and habit formation rather than isolated retention.
  • Clear and effective communication skills; ability to communicate complex concepts simply to diverse audiences.

Location

We operate with a hybrid model, three days per week in-person at our Culver City office. At this early stage, we deeply value face-to-face collaboration and believe it’s crucial for rapid, creative iteration. If spending time brainstorming with teammates at our office whiteboard excites you, you’ll love it here.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation will be based purely on skills and experience and include an equity allocation with traditional vesting terms (1-year cliff, 4-year vesting)
  • Health, dental and vision benefits
  • A flexible PTO policy
  • A culture of empowerment that rewards top performers with added responsibilities and internal growth opportunities

Our Philosophy

We deeply believe that diverse, equitable, and inclusive teams elevate us all and enable us to better serve our customers. We're committed to creating a welcoming work environment for people of all genders, sexual orientations, ethnicities, socioeconomic backgrounds, and life experiences.

Research shows that women and systematically marginalized groups are less likely to apply unless they meet every listed qualification. If you think you could excel in this role but aren't sure you meet every qualification, we strongly encourage you to apply anyway. If you require specific accommodations during the interview process or if you join our team, please let us know.

Hiring Process

To ensure a great fit, our hiring process will include structured interviews and a practical product case study. This will help us directly evaluate your hands-on analytical and strategic product skills and allow you to experience firsthand the type of impactful work you’ll be doing here at Remento.

Who Will Thrive (And Who Won’t)

  • You’ll thrive if… you’re genuinely excited to roll up your sleeves and handle tactical execution yourself; you have a strong intuition for consumer products, and you understand how to build engagement that fuels organic, word-of-mouth growth.
  • 🚩You might struggle if…your primary experience is managing large teams or extensive analytics infrastructure at heavily resourced organizations; or you prefer to delegate detailed execution and analysis to others.
