Area Business Development Officer
Location: Midland Downtown
SUMMARY: The Business Development Officer is responsible for originating new factoring accounts consistent with the company’s credit policy, developing and maintaining relationships with referral sources and centers of influence assist in the underwriting process of new client proposals and seeking approval from Executive Management for new client transactions.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure compliance with all internal controls and established policies and procedures.
- Develop and grow a portfolio of profitable factoring relationships with SBC.
- Ensure that prospective client files move through the underwriting process accurately and timely.
- Daily contact with potential and current clients.
- Daily contact with referral sources.
- Develop community involvement to build brand awareness in the community.
- Obtain new factoring relationships and retain existing factoring relationships.
- Review application and initial documents submitted to underwriting for completion and accuracy.
- Perform Data Entry into software to keep track of pipeline.
- Submit pipeline monthly to Executive Management.
- Negotiate Price and structure of new transaction within set limits.
- Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
- Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in sales is required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in customer service, with a working knowledge of relevant factory industry preferred.
- Experience in factoring preferred.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be knowledgeable and experienced in the use of marketing tools and methods, including mailings, telemarketing, and other forms of customer outreach.
- Proficient userof Microsoft Office and basic business machines. (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, copier, fax, scanner, calculator, etc.)
- Ability to anticipate problem situations and propose solutions is required.
- Ability to read and interpret financial documents is essential.
- Good organizational, interpersonal, communications, and strong customer relations skills are required.
- Attention to detail and mental concentration are necessary for handling frequent interruptions, balancing several on-going tasks and working in a fast paced environment.
- Fluently bilingual in Spanish is preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to take ownership/responsibility of work product.
