Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Release Manager with 10+ years of IT experience and strong expertise in Release Management, Governance, Production Deployments, and Stakeholder Coordination, preferably within the Banking, Financial Services, or other regulated environments.
The role will primarily focus on Finacle release and deployment management, along with releases of other enterprise applications. The position requires a strong process and governance mindset, with an approximate 70% focus on Release Management & Governance and 30% technical involvement.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing high-impact production releases, coordinating cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance and audit readiness, and supporting scheduled midnight/off-hours production deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, and manage end-to-end release cycles across Development, UAT, and Production environments.
- Lead and coordinate Finacle deployments as the primary responsibility.
- Manage releases and deployments for other enterprise applications.
- Coordinate code migration from UAT to Production, ensuring all required approvals and controls are in place.
- Prepare and manage production deployment artifacts, release packages, and version-controlled deliverables.
- Manage GitHub repositories, branching strategies, release tagging, and version control activities.
- Create and maintain release plans, deployment runbooks, checklists, implementation plans, and release documentation.
- Ensure compliance with release governance, audit controls, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
- Conduct Go/No-Go meetings and obtain necessary stakeholder approvals before production deployments.
- Coordinate with Development, QA, Infrastructure, Security, Operations, and Business teams to ensure release readiness.
- Manage deployment dependencies, risks, prerequisites, and readiness activities.
- Support midnight and off-hours production releases as required by approved release windows.
- Monitor production deployments and coordinate rollback, hotfix, and incident management activities when required.
- Maintain complete release documentation, deployment records, audit trails, and post-release reports.
- Identify opportunities to improve release processes, governance, automation, and deployment efficiency.
- Ensure smooth communication and escalation management throughout the release lifecycle.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of overall IT experience with significant experience in Release Management.
- Strong experience in banking, financial services, or regulated environments.
- Finacle release/deployment experience is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Release Management processes, governance, compliance, and audit controls.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub or similar version-control platforms.
- Experience managing production deployment artifacts, release packages, and version-controlled deliverables.
- Good understanding of Dev, UAT, and Production environments.
- Basic technical understanding of CI/CD pipelines, deployment tools, and scripting.
- Experience coordinating production deployments, dependencies, rollback plans, and hotfixes.
- Strong understanding of release readiness and production change controls.
- Willingness to support midnight/off-hours production releases when required.
- Excellent communication, documentation, coordination, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
