Role:- Relay & protection Engineer
Your new role – challenging and future-oriented
- Experienced Relay Engineer with comprehensive knowledge of Siemens protection relays and industrial power systems. Expertise in protection philosophy, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of EHV/MV electrical substations, with strong customer-oriented and safety-focused approach.
- Operation and maintenance of 220/132/11/6.6/0.415 kV EHV/MV/HT substations as a Relay Engineer.
- In-depth expertise in Siemens numerical protection relays, including configuration, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of protection philosophy, coordination, and implementation for transmission and distribution networks.
- Hands-on experience in testing primary electrical equipment in high-voltage AC switchyards, including result analysis, interpretation, and fault diagnosis.
- Knowledge of protection schemes such as: Distance Protection, Differential Protection (Transformer, Line, Busbar), Overcurrent & Earth Fault Protection, Unearthed System Protection, Cap-bank, Motors,
- BCU configuration, Retrofitting expertise, Networking etc.
- Experience in offline and online condition monitoring of switchyard equipment and protection systems, including integration with SCADA systems( Aided advantage)
- Preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of substation equipment and numerical relays.'
- Troubleshooting of relay maloperations, fault analysis using disturbance records, event logs, and waveform analysis.
- Familiarity with HT/LT motors, VFDs, compressors, chillers, ventilation systems, and EFD systems (considered an added advantage).
- Conduct technical training and knowledge sharing sessions for site personnel on power transmission equipment and protection systems.
- Working and protection significance of Power Transformers (EHV) , AIS & GIS Switchgear.
- Ensure compliance with Siemens standards, as well as customer-specific environment, health, and safety (EHS) protocols.
- Strong customer coordination skills, including handling technical discussions, resolving issues, and supporting operational requirements (Scope approach).
- Coordination with contractors and vendors for technical support, testing, and maintenance activities.
We don’t need superheroes, just super minds
- B.E / B. Tech in Electrical/Electrical and Electronics with 6 to 8 years of experience.
- Must be technically sound to face Customer directly, good communication skills with customer centric approach.
- Good Environment, health and safety knowledge, good team lead to manage site team
- Strong knowledge of Siemens relay platforms (Siprotec series preferred), Expertise in relay parameterization tools (DIGSI-4/5, etc.)
- Ability to interpret disturbance records and event logs.
- Sound understanding of electrical power systems and protection coordination.
