Job Overview- Responsible for designing, negotiating, placing, and monitoring reinsurance programs aligned with Kshema General Insurance Limited’s risk appetite, financial objectives, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborates closely with internal teams including Underwriting, Finance, and Actuarial
- Works with external stakeholders such as brokers and domestic and international reinsurers
- Requires strong knowledge of reinsurance practices, regulatory frameworks, and global market dynamics
Key Responsibilities- Develop and review retention strategies and reinsurance programs in line with risk, capital, and regulatory guidelines
- Assess reinsurance requirements through analysis of risk profiles, capital adequacy, loss experience, and market conditions
- Negotiate competitive pricing, terms, and conditions with reinsurers
- Prepare, review, and finalize reinsurance submissions, contracts, and documentation
- Ensure compliance with IRDAI regulations, internal standards, and global best practices
- Oversee reinsurance accounting, reporting, audits, and timely settlement of premiums, commissions, and claims recoveries
- Monitor program performance, identify gaps, and recommend cost‑optimization measures
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders
- Track market trends and regulatory changes and provide strategic inputs to senior management
Requirements- Strong knowledge of reinsurance concepts, treaty and facultative structures, pricing, accounting, and regulations
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Extensive experience in reinsurance, preferably within Indian general insurance
- International exposure to global reinsurers, brokers, or markets is strongly preferred
Educational Qualifications- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Insurance, Finance, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or a related field
- Additional certifications in reinsurance or risk management are an advantage
