3000 Radiology General
Schedule: 2nd shift, 11a-11:30p W-F (36 hours), Includes a weekend rotation, 2 holidays per year, and on call shifts.
About the Position
The Radiography Technologist supports the Reid Health Mission, Vision, Values, and Key Service Behaviors. The Radiography Technologist performs radiographic diagnostic imaging examinations on patients per physician/provider orders with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
Overview of Responsibilities
Competently operates radiographic equipment
Accurately evaluates requests for radiographic procedures
Obtains patient history and symptoms
Performs radiographic procedures per provider orders
Provides care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the patients served
Provides explanation and instruction to patients regarding radiographic procedures
Demonstrates effective communication with patients and families
Accurately performs appropriate documentation
Follows radiation safety policies and guidelines
Takes responsibility for personal radiation safety and exposure monitoring
Appropriately uses radiation protection devices
Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement activities
Assists in the clinical instruction of radiography students

Education & Experience
- Education Preferred: Education in additional radiology modalities would be nice to have.
- Experience Required: A minimum of 2 years in an approved educational program.
- Experience Preferred: Experience as a licensed radiologic technologist in Radiography is beneficial.
Licensure & Certification
Radiologic Technologist license issued by the Indiana Department of Health
Certification and Registry in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT.
Current in BLS certification.
