Job Summary:
The Registrar is the chief administrative officer of the university in charge of academic and student records and responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of administrative processes. The role demands leadership, meticulous record-keeping, and deep familiarity with higher education regulations and university operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
- At least 15 years of experience in academic administration in a university or equivalent institution, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership/Registrar or Deputy Registrar position.
- Knowledge of university regulations, higher education policies, and statutory frameworks (UGC, NAAC, AICTE, etc.).
- Proven experience in managing academic data systems, office automation, and digital records.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Hindi.
Desirable Attributes:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field.
- Experience with ERP and digitized university systems.
- Legal and regulatory knowledge related to higher education institutions.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the academic administration of the university, including admissions, examinations, academic records, and scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with UGC regulations and other statutory bodies.
- Coordinate with various faculties, departments, and administrative units for the smooth functioning of academic programs.
- Manage student enrollment data, records, and transcripts.
- Organize meetings of statutory bodies like Academic Council, Board of Management, and prepare the minutes.
- Implement and monitor university policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of student records.
- Supervise the registrar’s office staff and ensure efficient workflow and communication.
- Liaise with government bodies, accreditation agencies, and other external entities.
- Lead the digitization and modernization of academic record-keeping and administrative systems.
- Ensure timely publication of academic calendars, results, and notices.
- Support in audits, inspections, and assessments by regulatory and accreditation bodies.
