About the RoleMind & Brain Hospital is looking for a dedicated and patient-focused Registered Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Department. The Pharmacist will be responsible for ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of medications, maintaining pharmacy inventory, supporting medication safety, and complying with all statutory and hospital regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesMedication Dispensing
- Review and verify prescriptions issued by consultants before dispensing.
- Dispense medicines accurately and safely in accordance with prescribed dosages.
- Check for drug interactions, contraindications, allergies, and duplicate therapies.
- Provide medication counselling to patients and caregivers regarding dosage, administration, storage, precautions, and possible side effects.
- Ensure safe handling and storage of all medications.
Inventory Management
- Maintain adequate stock levels of medicines and pharmacy consumables.
- Monitor medicine expiry dates and remove expired or damaged stock.
- Coordinate procurement and replenishment of medicines.
- Perform regular stock verification and inventory reconciliation.
- Maintain proper storage conditions for all medications.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate dispensing records and pharmacy documentation.
- Ensure compliance with the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, Pharmacy Act, and other applicable statutory regulations.
- Maintain records for Schedule H, H1, psychotropic, and other regulated medicines as per legal requirements.
- Participate in NABH documentation, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Report medication errors or adverse drug reactions as per hospital protocol.
Patient Care & Coordination
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication availability and therapy-related queries.
- Assist in promoting rational use of medicines.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information and pharmacy records.
Quality & Safety
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy.
- Follow infection control and patient safety guidelines.
- Participate in departmental meetings, audits, and continuous quality improvement activities.
Eligibility CriteriaQualification
- Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a recognized institution.
- Must possess a valid Registration Certificate issued by the Karnataka State Pharmacy Council (KSPC).
Experience
- Freshers with a valid Karnataka State Pharmacy Council Registration Certificate are welcome to apply.
- Candidates with 1–3 years of hospital pharmacy experience will have an added advantage.
- Experience in a psychiatric or multispecialty hospital is preferred but not mandatory.
Skills Required- Good knowledge of pharmacology and medication safety.
- Knowledge of psychotropic medications will be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation.
- Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Professional ethics and commitment to patient safety.
