Role Description The Regional Sales Manager – Rotating Equipment After Sales is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth and profitability of the after-sales business within the assigned region. The role focuses on developing and executing sales strategies for service solutions covering compressors, steam turbines, and other rotating equipment, including spare parts, repairs, overhauls, retrofits, upgrades, field services, and long-term service agreements (LTSAs).
The incumbent will lead regional sales activities, strengthen customer relationships, expand the installed base business, identify new market opportunities, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver superior customer experience while achieving business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and expand the after-sales business by securing service opportunities for both company-owned and other OEM rotating equipment across the assigned region.
- Achieve annual sales, revenue, gross margin, and profitability targets for the assigned region.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the installed base across key industrial sectors, including Oil & Gas, Power, Petrochemical, Fertilizer, Marine, Steel, Cement, Process Industries, and Industrial Manufacturing.
- Develop strategic account plans to maximize customer retention and recurring service revenue.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Understand customer operational requirements and provide value-added technical and commercial solutions.
- Conduct regular customer visits to identify service opportunities, strengthen partnerships, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Ensure prompt resolution of customer concerns through effective coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and review techno-commercial proposals in collaboration with engineering, service operations, and commercial teams.
- Lead commercial negotiations and contract discussions within delegated authority.
- Ensure timely submission of quotations and improve quotation-to-order conversion rates.
- Work closely with Service Operations, Field Service Engineers, Spare Parts, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, and Sales Support teams to ensure seamless execution of customer commitments.
- Coordinate with global and regional business units on major service opportunities and strategic customer accounts.
- Monitor market trends, customer requirements, emerging technologies, and competitor activities.
- Identify market opportunities and recommend strategies to expand market share.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and utilize CRM tools to manage opportunities and customer interactions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
- MBA in Marketing, Sales, or Business Management is desirable.
Experience
- 12–17 years of progressive experience in industrial sales, with significant exposure to after-sales business for rotating equipment.
- Proven experience in selling after-sales solutions for compressors, steam turbines, gas turbines, turbochargers, pumps, or similar rotating equipment.
- Strong experience in service contracts, spare parts, overhauls, retrofits, modernization projects, and lifecycle management solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in developing after-sales business for both OEM and non-OEM (multi-brand) rotating equipment within the energy, oil & gas, power, or heavy engineering sectors is preferred.
