Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Regional Sales Manager based in Lucknow. The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth for Merck Life Science products and services within the assigned territory, managing key customer accounts, and expanding market presence. Daily activities include developing and executing regional sales strategies, meeting with customers such as research institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and industrial clients, and presenting tailored solutions that align with their scientific and business needs. The role will also involve leading and mentoring a regional sales team, forecasting and reporting sales performance, collaborating closely with marketing and technical support teams, and ensuring a high standard of customer satisfaction and compliance with company policies. The Regional Sales Manager will regularly analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities and optimize go-to-market plans.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in regional or territory sales management, ideally within life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or related scientific markets.
- Strong skills in account management, pipeline development, and consultative selling, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to develop and implement effective regional sales strategies, including territory planning, opportunity prioritization, and market expansion.
- Demonstrated capability in building and maintaining long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including researchers, procurement teams, and senior decision-makers.
- Experience leading or coaching sales teams, including performance management, goal-setting, and supporting professional development.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and customer-focused way.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, including the use of CRM tools and sales data to forecast, track performance, and inform decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree or MBA is an advantage.
- High level of self-motivation, organization, and time management, with the ability to work independently in the field and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned region
