Job Title: Regional Sales Manager – Life Sciences & Bioprocess
Department: Sales & Business Development
Location: Tamil Nadu & Kerala (Region Based: Chennai)
Sales areas: Life Science Consumables, Instruments & Bioprocess solutions (various) with the sales personnels
Product segments : Reagents & consumables, Plasticwares, General & Application-based instrumentation, Filtration, Chromatography products, Disinfectants, Mol. Diagnostic tools etc.
Experience Required: 8–12 Years (minimum 4+ years in a leadership role)
Role Overview
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will lead sales operations across Tamil Nadu and Kerala, managing business growth in research, diagnostics, pharma, biopharma manufacturing, and process industries. The role includes managing a team of Sales personnels and Application Executives selling lab consumables, reagents & plastics, instruments, and Bioprocess solutions (Upstream & Downstream, QC, R&D, Production).
The RSM will drive regional market strategy, oversee key accounts, support technical engagements, and ensure revenue and profitability targets for both Life Science & Bioprocess segments. The RSM is expected to build relationships with key clients ( Potential Research Institutions, Hospitals, clinics, Biopharma clients) and identify new opportunities to grow the business revenue for Genetix in the 2 states.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Management & Revenue Growth
• Lead sales planning and execution for life science consumables, instruments, and bioprocess products.
• Achieve quarterly and annual targets for revenue, margin, and SKU growth across assigned territories.
• Expand share of business in pharma, biotech start-ups, diagnostics, academic institutes, CROs, and universities.
2. Team Leadership & Development
• Manage a team of Life Science Territory Sales Executives, and Bioprocess Sales/Application specialists.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and performance-manage the sales team.
• Conduct regular territory reviews, joint visits, and skill development sessions.
3. Key Account & Channel Management
• Strengthen relationships with strategic accounts working in different biological sciences streams
• Negotiate rate contracts, tenders, pricing agreements, and long-term supply partnerships.
• Manage channel partners/distributors effectively to maximize market reach.
4. Planning, Forecasting & Compliance
• Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, and product positioning.
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts, funnel management, and regional inventory planning.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, ethical compliance, and industry standards.
Qualifications & Experience
• B.Sc./M.Sc./B.Tech/M.Tech in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences.
• MBA (Marketing/Business) preferred.
• 8–12 years of sales experience in Life Science/Industrial Bioprocess, with minimum 4 years leading a sales team.
• Exposure to globally known product lines from renowned companies working in different sectors of products ranging from Consumables & Instrumentation
