Job Title: Regional Sales Manager – FMCG (General Trade)
Location:
(Region – Western UP, Haryana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh- East and West, Eastern Maharashtra, Telangana, Hyderabad, Rajasthan, Andhra, North Assam, Siliguri, Darjeeling, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Vijayawada)
Role Overview
The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, distribution expansion, and market share within the assigned region in the General Trade channel. The role involves managing distributors, leading field sales teams, and ensuring execution excellence across retail outlets.
Key Responsibilities
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the region
Drive primary and secondary sales growth
Monitor sales performance and implement corrective actions
2, Distribution Management
Appoint and manage distributors across territories
Ensure optimum stock levels and timely replenishment
Expand distribution reach in urban and rural markets
Strengthen presence in kirana stores, wholesalers, and retail outlets
Ensure product availability, visibility, and merchandising standards
Execute trade schemes, promotions, and market activations
Lead, train, and motivate Area Sales Managers (ASMs), Sales Officers, and field staff
Set KPIs and monitor team performance
Conduct regular market visits and reviews
Track competitor activities, pricing, and new product launches
Provide insights for strategy and product positioning
Identify new growth opportunities
Monitor distributor ROI and credit control
Ensure adherence to company policies and reporting systems
Manage sales budgets and trade spends effectively
Key Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred)
Experience
6–10 years of experience in FMCG sales
Strong experience in
General Trade (GT) channel
Proven track record of handling a region and achieving targets

Distributor handling & negotiation skills
Data-driven decision making
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
