Title: Regional Advisor (South Asia) supporting Postgraduate programs for a US Public University
Location: White Bridge Education, Mumbai

Role Description: The in-country representative will act as the University's official representative in India and the broader Indian subcontinent for Graduate programs. This role plays a vital part in promoting the University’s graduate offerings and recruiting high-quality international students. The representative will be responsible for building and sustaining relationships with prospective students, universities, education agents, and career counsellors in the region.
Through strategic outreach and stakeholder engagement, the representative will support the university’s goals of increasing enrollment, enhancing diversity, and identifying growth opportunities for graduate programs. The position involves setting and achieving recruitment targets for South Asia, developing and implementing recruitment strategies, collaborating with colleagues in Recruitment, Admissions, and Student Services to ensure responsible student recruitment and enrollment. The representative will also work closely colleagues from the university’s marketing, international enrollment, careers and alumni teams to enhance the university's profile in the region, manage budgets, and coordinate in-country visits for academic and professional services staff.
This front-facing role requires excellent interpersonal skills, strong management abilities, and experience in strategic international environments. Extensive travel across India is expected, with occasional involvement in activities across the South Asia region.
Key responsibilities
• Develop and execute comprehensive recruitment plans and effective yield strategies to drive student
enrollment and application growth from India at graduate level.
• Implement day-to-day activities necessary to achieve the objectives outlined in the recruitment plans and strategies, ensuring enhanced recruitment at all stages of the enrollment process (from prospect to matriculate). This may include participating in university fairs, visiting colleges, universities, and agencies, and engaging with prospective applicants.
• Utilize the University's CRM and other platforms to support the enrollment of international students, streamlining processes and providing efficient assistance
• Serve as liaison to deans, department heads, faculty and administrators in assigned schools and
colleges. Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the academic programs, as well as relevant
policies and procedures within each assigned school/college
• Counsel and advise non-immigrant students and their families in relation to university policy and
requirements
• Evaluate educational documents to advise students' potential eligibility for desired programs, ensuring adherence to general admission criteria
• Advise prospective students and offer-holders on various matters, such as academic programs, entry requirements, application procedures and enrollment steps based on guidance received from the University’s admissions office
• Design and execute yield strategies to support admitted students in their decision-making journey,
including personalized outreach, counsellor engagement, and content localisation.
• Manage and execute yield-focused events (virtual and in-person), such as offer-holder sessions, pre- departure briefings, and parent/student meetups to improve conversion from offer to enrollment.
• Organize, support, and attend recruitment events, including virtual and in-person workshops, university visits, and other engagements with schools, alumni, and other stakeholders.
• Provide outreach services, cross-cultural and regulatory workshops to students, faculty and
administrators within the assigned schools and colleges.
• Plan and coordinate the recruitment schedule for the position and visiting colleagues as necessary.
• Gather, analyze, and provide market data specific about India, aiding in the identification of potential
market expansion opportunities at all levels. Offer strategic consultation and advice regarding the University's brand positioning in India and South Asia.
• Cultivate positive relationships with key external stakeholders in India, such as university counsellors, EducationUSA, alumni, and accreditation bodies.
• Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders at the University, ensuring the effective implementation and management of robust recruitment and admissions processes.
Qualifications
• Possess a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as marketing or recruitment
• Have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in international student recruitment or a related field
• Exhibit strong customer orientation, along with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Display excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Possess experience of living, studying, or working internationally
• Fluent in English and the local language
• Possess extensive knowledge of the higher education sector and international student recruitment
• Proficient in computer skills, including experience with CRM systems
• Willingness to travel and participate in events as required
• Familiarity with the opportunities and challenges within the global higher education market, particularly in the United States
• Show a track record of 3+ years in student recruitment in India, preferably with a focus on recruitment to the United States
• Previous experience in line management is preferred, with a demonstrated ability to plan workloads for recruitment support colleagues
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective recruitment and conversion plans to maximize student growth in priority markets
• Understand the significance of service delivery and collaboration with colleagues across the university to collectively work towards strategic goals
• Possess knowledge of US immigration policies and their application in responsible recruitment practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including proficiency in using digital and social media for business purposes
• Strong IT skills, capable of producing reports based on complex statistical data analysis
• Exhibit a creative and positive attitude, with the ability and confidence to quickly adapt to meet changing customer and market demands
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize demanding workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to adopt a flexible working approach, including working during unsocial hours, weekends, or occasional public holidays when required
• Ability to travel for business purposes on an unrestricted basis, including potential visits to the United States for training
• The candidate should possess a valid passport, as some overseas travel may be required on an ad-hoc basis
