For our commercial team in Kolkata, India, we are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Regional Account Manager.
About the job:
As Regional Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving business development and sales activities across the assigned territory within the Refractories, Ceramics, Polishing, and Specialty (RCPS) markets. You will identify and develop new business opportunities, applications, market segments, and customer relationships while supporting the implementation of Almatis’ business development strategy. Working closely with Commercial, Marketing, PMD, Customer Service, and other internal stakeholders, you will contribute to sustainable and profitable growth across the industry value chain.
You will be responsible for:
• Driving profitable growth through new applications, market segments, customer acquisition, and business development initiatives
• Identifying, developing, and implementing new business opportunities across the industry value chain in line with Almatis’ corporate roadmap
• Achieving annual targets related to revenue, volume, unit revenue, profitability, and market share within the assigned territory
• Supporting the implementation of the corporate business development strategy determined by management
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, distributors, agents, and key industry stakeholders
• Expanding Almatis’ presence across the refractory, ceramics, polishing, and related industrial markets
• Identifying commercial opportunities and recommending growth initiatives to support business expansion in the India market
• Monitoring market developments, customer needs, competitive activities, and industry trends to identify growth opportunities
• Providing accurate commercial reporting, forecasting, and market intelligence in accordance with internal reporting requirements
• Utilizing CRM and market intelligence tools to support business development and decision-making
• Collaborating with Marketing to plan and implement customer seminars, trade fairs, exhibitions, advertisements, and other promotional activities
• Working closely with Application Managers, Customer Service Representatives, PMD, Quality, and Production teams to support business growth and customer satisfaction
• Managing communication between customers and internal stakeholders to ensure effective order management, complaint resolution, and technical support
• Supporting strategic projects and cooperation initiatives across the value chain
About you:
Education & Work Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Ceramic Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related discipline
• Master’s degree (PGDM) in Management is considered an advantage
• 8–10 years of relevant experience in sales, account management, or business development within industrial markets
Knowledge & Skills:
• Strong understanding of alumina materials and the related industry value chain
• Knowledge of the refractory, ceramics, iron & steel, cement, and chemical industries, including products, markets, and customers
• Strong business development mindset with the ability to identify and convert growth opportunities
• Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills
• Experience in managing customer relationships and developing long-term business partnerships
• Strong analytical and commercial acumen
• Experience with CRM systems, reporting, forecasting, and market intelligence tools
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Proactive, results-oriented, and self-driven approach to business development
• Fluent English communication skills are required
