The Project Manager of Maintenance is responsible for delivering maintenance-related project objectives that
ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all equipment and assets supporting the project. This role
oversees maintenance planning, resource allocation, and execution while ensuring full compliance with safety,
environmental, and quality standards. The position provides leadership to maintenance teams, manages cost
control and performance tracking, and ensures alignment between maintenance activities and overall project
goals.
Responsibilities
1. Provide leadership, direction, and support to maintenance supervisors and teams through structured
planning, communication, and performance reviews.
2. Ensure full compliance with company safety standards, including maintenance-related adherence to all
safety programs and accountability systems.
3. Lead the development and execution of maintenance strategies, including preventive, predictive, and
corrective maintenance programs.
4. Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution to maximize equipment availability and
minimize downtime.
5. Monitor and report on maintenance performance using daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs (equipment
uptime, MTBF, MTTR, cost performance).
6. Identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and efficiency.
7. Manage maintenance budgets, cost controls, and forecasting in alignment with project financial
objectives.
8. Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, and client representatives to ensure maintenance
activities support production targets.
9. Establish and track key performance indicators specific to maintenance and asset management.
10. Ensure proper investigation, reporting, and follow-up of equipment failures, incidents, and safety events.
11. Review and approve maintenance-related expenditures, materials procurement, and contractor services.
12. Support workforce planning, including scheduling, training, development, and performance
management of maintenance personnel.
13. Promote continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance practices, reliability engineering, and asset
lifecycle management.
14. Ensure all maintenance work is conducted safely through field-level risk assessments and adherence to
procedures.
15. Maintain accurate maintenance records, work order systems, and documentation for compliance and
reporting.
16. Provide leadership in fostering a strong safety culture and reinforcing accountability at all levels of the
maintenance team.
17. Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (OSHA/MSHA).
18. Maintain confidentiality of company and client information.
19. Ability to manage complex maintenance challenges independently and make sound operational decisions.
20. Perform other duties as assigned to support overall project success.

Qualifications
Education:
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Maintenance Management, or related field (preferred).
2. Additional certification in Maintenance or Reliability (CMRP, PMP, etc.) is an asset.
Work Experience:
1. 5–10 years of experience in maintenance management within mining, heavy equipment, or industrial
operations.
2. Proven experience managing maintenance teams, systems, and budgets in a project environment.
