Role Overview
We are seeking a
Reddit Community Manager who deeply understands Reddit communities and how discussions shape public perception.
This role focuses on
community intelligence and narrative analysis, not growth marketing or engagement farming. The goal is to monitor discussions, identify emerging narratives, and help our advisory team understand how conversations around companies, industries, and issues evolve on Reddit.
This is a
freelance role with flexible working hours, suitable for someone who is already active on Reddit and familiar with its culture and norms.
Key Responsibilities
Community Monitoring
- Monitor relevant subreddits related to industries, companies, and public discussions.
- Track high-impact threads and recurring community narratives.
- Identify shifts in sentiment and emerging concerns.
Narrative & Discourse Analysis
- Analyze how topics are framed and discussed within Reddit communities.
- Identify patterns in user sentiment, misinformation, or emerging narratives.
- Provide concise summaries and insights for the advisory team.
Strategic Participation (When Appropriate)
- Participate in discussions when context or clarification is appropriate.
- Ensure all engagement respects subreddit norms and community expectations.
- Avoid promotional or engagement-driven behavior.
Reporting
- Prepare short insight reports summarizing key discussions and risks.
- Track notable threads, moderators, and influential users within relevant communities.
Requirements
Must Have
- Active Reddit account at least 6 months old
- Combined karma of 500+
- Strong familiarity with Reddit culture, rules, and moderation dynamics
- Ability to identify meaningful discussions and narratives
- Strong written communication skills
Account Requirement
- The Reddit account must not use your real name
- Account should be anonymous / pseudonymous, consistent with typical Reddit usage
- Account should have authentic activity history across communities
Nice to Have
- Experience moderating subreddits
- Experience in community research or online discourse monitoring
- Familiarity with social listening tools or online research methods
