Lighting Artist

We are looking for an experienced Lighting Artist to join our talented team at Red Chillies VFX. As a Lighting Artist, you will be responsible for creating visually stunning and technically accurate lighting setups for various types of visual effects shots. You will work closely with the Compositing team to ensure a seamless integration of lighting and compositing elements. Responsibilities: - Analyze and interpret Director's vision and creative brief to develop lighting solutions that enhance the visual narrative - Collaborate with the CG team to ensure the 3D assets are optimized for efficient lighting - Develop and refine lighting setups, leveraging industry-standard lighting techniques and tools - Troubleshoot and resolve any lighting-related issues, maintaining a high level of technical and creative problem-solving - Continuously explore new lighting techniques and technologies to push the boundaries of visual effects - Adhere to production deadlines and deliver high-quality work consistently Requirements: - Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Lighting Artist in the visual effects industry - Strong understanding of 3D lighting principles, including color theory, lighting ratios, and mood/atmosphere creation - Proficiency in using industry-standard 3D software such as Maya, Houdini, or equivalent - Familiarity with rendering engines like V-Ray, Arnold, or RenderMan - Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment - Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics - Passion for visual effects and a desire to contribute to the growth of the industry
