About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled React Native Mobile Developer to join our dynamic team as an early technical hire. In this role, you will take ownership of the development and enhancement of our mobile application, ensuring it is performant, scalable, and user-centric. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to build features from concept to deployment, utilizing your expertise in React Native, Expo, and modern mobile development practices. Your contributions will directly influence the user experience and the technical architecture of our mobile platform, helping us to deliver innovative solutions that meet the needs of our growing user base.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3+ years dedicated to React Native for cross-platform mobile app development.
- Deep proficiency in React Native core principles, Expo (including EAS), TypeScript, and modern state management libraries such as Jotai, Zustand, or Redux.
- Proven experience in profiling and optimizing complex mobile applications, utilizing tools like React Profiler and Flipper to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Extensive experience designing and implementing scalable and modular Design Systems, with a focus on performance and maintainability.
- Strong background in architecting and managing network/data fetching layers, including advanced use of state management for server data, such as Tanstack Query, SWR, or Apollo.
- Excellent understanding of backend integrations, REST APIs, and cloud platforms like Firebase, Supabase, or GCP.
- Strong product sense with a focus on delivering intuitive and user-friendly interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of our mobile application using React Native and Expo (EAS), ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Architect and enhance a high-performance Design System, emphasizing component reusability, clear styling tokens, and comprehensive documentation using tools like Storybook.
- Develop and maintain the core Network Layer, implementing efficient data fetching, error handling, caching strategies, and data transformation techniques.
- Drive app performance optimization by reducing re-renders, minimizing bridge traffic, leveraging JSI for animations, and optimizing startup times for a smooth 60 FPS experience.
- Take full ownership of core mobile features, from initial concept through to deployment, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of backend services and frontend features.
- Participate in code reviews, promote best practices, and share knowledge to uphold high code quality standards.
