Role Description The Rebar Detailer will be responsible for preparing detailed rebar shop drawings and bar bending schedules based on structural and architectural drawings. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting design specifications, coordinating with engineers and project teams, and ensuring drawings meet relevant codes and standards. The role involves using detailing and BIM tools to model reinforcement, identify clashes, and optimize rebar placement for fabrication and installation. The Rebar Detailer will also review and update drawings as projects progress, maintain documentation, and support estimation and planning teams with accurate quantities. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Tamil Nadu, India.
Qualifications
- Ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings, with strong understanding of rebar detailing standards and relevant codes.
- Proficiency in CAD/BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Rebar detailing tools, 2D/3D modeling software) and experience producing shop drawings and bar bending schedules.
- Experience with LOD BIM models, clash detection, and coordination with other trades to ensure accurate and constructible detailing.
- Strong analytical and estimation skills to calculate quantities, support cost-effective solutions, and assist project teams in planning.
- Attention to detail, systematic documentation habits, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
- Good communication skills for collaborating with engineers, fabricators, and contractors, and for resolving design or site-related queries.
- Relevant technical education in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related discipline; prior experience in rebar or concrete detailing is preferred.
- Willingness to work on-site in Tamil Nadu, India and maintain professional conduct in a diverse, team-oriented workplace.
