About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior React Native Developer to join our engineering team as an early technical hire. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to influence the technical direction of our core mobile product, working closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers. As a key contributor, you will take ownership of critical features, optimize app performance, and help shape the architecture of our mobile platform. Your expertise will directly impact the user experience, ensuring our application remains fast, reliable, and scalable. This position provides a unique chance to work at the forefront of AI-driven mobile solutions, utilizing cutting-edge tools and methodologies to create seamless, intuitive experiences for our users.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3+ years dedicated to React Native development for cross-platform mobile applications.
- Deep proficiency in React Native core principles, including Expo (and EAS), TypeScript, and modern state management libraries such as Jotai, Zustand, or Redux.
- Proven experience in profiling and optimizing complex mobile applications, utilizing tools like React Profiler and Flipper to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Extensive experience in architecting and building scalable Design Systems focused on modularity, performance, and reusability.
- Strong background in designing and managing network/data fetching layers, including advanced use of state management solutions like Tanstack Query, SWR, or Apollo, with expertise in caching, retries, and optimistic UI updates.
- Excellent understanding of backend integrations, particularly REST APIs, and familiarity with cloud platforms such as Firebase, Supabase, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong product sense with a user-centric approach to design and development, ensuring intuitive and accessible user experiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of our mobile application using React Native and Expo (EAS), ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Architect and enhance a high-performance Design System, incorporating best practices for component API design, styling tokens, and documentation via tools like Storybook.
- Develop and maintain the core network layer, ensuring efficient data fetching, robust error handling, and effective caching strategies to optimize user experience.
- Drive app performance optimization by reducing re-renders, minimizing bridge traffic, leveraging JSI for animations, and optimizing startup times to maintain a consistent 60 FPS experience.
- Take full ownership of core mobile features from concept through deployment, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new features, troubleshoot issues, and improve existing functionalities based on user feedback and analytics.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and maintaining high standards of code quality and documentation.
