About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced React Native Developer to join our dynamic team as an early technical hire. This role offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of core mobile features, influence the technical direction of our platform, and work on a high-impact product that is at the forefront of AI integration. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our mobile application, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and user experience. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver innovative solutions that meet our users' needs and exceed expectations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess over five years of software development experience, with at least three years dedicated specifically to React Native development for cross-platform mobile applications. You should have expert proficiency in React Native core principles, Expo (including EAS), TypeScript, and modern state management libraries such as Jotai, Zustand, or Redux. A proven track record of profiling and optimizing complex mobile apps, resolving performance bottlenecks related to rendering, memory, and bridge traffic, is essential. Deep experience in architecting scalable Design Systems with a focus on modularity and performance is required. Additionally, you should have extensive experience managing network and data fetching layers, including advanced use of state management tools like Tanstack Query, SWR, or Apollo, along with implementing robust retry and caching strategies. Strong product sense, user-centric design focus, and proficiency in backend integrations with REST APIs and cloud platforms such as Firebase, Supabase, or GCP are also important qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of our mobile application using React Native and Expo (EAS), ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Architect and enhance a high-performance Design System utilizing TypeScript and component API best practices, emphasizing component reusability, clear styling tokens, and comprehensive documentation (e.g., Storybook).
- Develop and maintain the core Network Layer, ensuring efficient data fetching, error handling, caching strategies, and streamlined data transformation processes.
- Drive app performance optimization by reducing re-renders, minimizing bridge traffic, leveraging JSI for smooth animations, and optimizing startup times to deliver a consistent 60 FPS experience.
- Take full ownership of core mobile features from concept through deployment, ensuring timely delivery and high quality.
- Contribute to maintaining high code quality through rigorous peer reviews, knowledge sharing, and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement innovative solutions that enhance user experience.
