About The Role
We are seeking an experienced React Native Developer to join our technical team as an early key hire. This role offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of the core mobile product, influence architectural decisions, and directly impact our users’ experience. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our mobile application, ensuring high performance, scalability, and usability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cross-platform mobile development, with a passion for building intuitive and efficient user interfaces. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver features that meet business objectives and user needs. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess over five years of software development experience, with at least three years dedicated specifically to React Native development for cross-platform mobile applications. You should demonstrate proficiency in React Native core principles, Expo (including EAS), and TypeScript, along with modern state management solutions such as Jotai, Zustand, or Redux. Experience in profiling and optimizing complex mobile apps using tools like React Profiler and Flipper is essential, as is a deep understanding of performance bottlenecks and solutions. Strong expertise in architecting modular, scalable Design Systems with a focus on performance is required. You should also have extensive experience managing network and data fetching layers, including advanced use of state management libraries like Tanstack Query, SWR, or Apollo. A solid understanding of backend integrations via REST APIs and familiarity with cloud platforms such as Firebase, Supabase, or GCP are highly desirable. Additional bonus points include experience with native development (Swift/Kotlin), mobile testing frameworks, CI/CD processes, and JSI libraries like Reanimated v2+.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of our mobile application using React Native and Expo (EAS).
- Architect and enhance a high-performance Design System utilizing TypeScript and component API best practices, ensuring component reusability, clear styling tokens, and comprehensive documentation (e.g., Storybook).
- Develop and maintain the core Network Layer, focusing on efficient data fetching, robust error handling, effective caching strategies, and streamlined data transformation processes.
- Drive app performance optimization by reducing re-renders, minimizing bridge traffic, leveraging JSI for smooth animations, and optimizing bundle and startup times to ensure a consistent 60 FPS experience.
- Take full ownership of core mobile features from conception through deployment, ensuring high quality and timely delivery.
- Contribute to maintaining high code quality through rigorous peer reviews, knowledge sharing, and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into technical solutions that enhance user experience.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in mobile technologies and incorporate innovative solutions to improve app performance and usability.
