About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mobile React Native Developer to join our team as a key early technical hire. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and refining our core mobile application, ensuring it is performant, scalable, and user-centric. You will have the opportunity to take full ownership of significant features from concept through deployment, directly impacting the product’s success and growth. Your expertise will help shape the technical foundation of our platform, utilizing cutting-edge tools and practices to deliver a seamless experience to our users. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of software development experience, with at least 3 years dedicated to React Native and mobile app development. You should possess deep proficiency in React Native core principles, Expo (including EAS), and TypeScript, along with modern state management solutions such as Jotai, Zustand, or Redux. Proven experience in profiling and optimizing complex mobile applications is essential, including resolving performance bottlenecks related to rendering, memory, and bridge traffic. You should have a strong background in architecting scalable Design Systems that prioritize modularity and performance. Additionally, extensive experience in designing and managing network/data fetching layers, including familiarity with tools like Tanstack Query, SWR, or Apollo, is required. A solid understanding of backend integrations with REST APIs and cloud platforms such as Firebase, Supabase, or Google Cloud Platform is also necessary. Strong product sensibility, user-centric design thinking, and excellent problem-solving skills are highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of the company's mobile application using React Native and Expo (EAS), ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Architect and enhance a comprehensive Design System with a focus on modularity, reusability, and scalability, utilizing TypeScript and component API best practices, and documenting components via tools like Storybook.
- Develop and maintain the core Network Layer, implementing efficient data fetching, error handling, caching strategies, and data transformation, leveraging libraries such as React Query or similar.
- Drive app performance optimization efforts, including reducing re-renders, minimizing bridge traffic, utilizing JSI for animations, and optimizing startup and bundle times to ensure a smooth 60 FPS experience.
- Take full ownership of the development lifecycle for core mobile features, from initial concept through to deployment and post-launch support.
- Contribute to maintaining high code quality through rigorous peer reviews, knowledge sharing, and adherence to best practices in software development.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend engineers, to deliver high-quality features aligned with business goals.
- Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in mobile development and AI, integrating relevant innovations into the platform.
