About The Role
Join a high-growth, venture-backed startup as an early technical hire, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our core mobile platform. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to take ownership of key features, influence architectural decisions, and contribute directly to the development of a cutting-edge mobile application. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver a high-performance, scalable, and user-friendly app that meets the evolving needs of entrepreneurs worldwide. Your expertise will be instrumental in building a robust design system, optimizing app performance, and ensuring seamless integration with backend services. This role is ideal for a seasoned React Native developer eager to make a tangible impact in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have over five years of software development experience, with at least three years dedicated to React Native for cross-platform mobile applications. You should demonstrate expert proficiency with React Native core principles, Expo (including EAS), and TypeScript. Experience with modern state management solutions such as Jotai, Zustand, or Redux is essential. A strong background in profiling and optimizing complex mobile apps, using tools like React Profiler and Flipper, is required. Additionally, you should have deep experience architecting scalable Design Systems with an emphasis on modularity and performance. Familiarity with backend integrations involving REST APIs, cloud platforms like Firebase, Supabase, or GCP, and advanced data fetching strategies is also necessary. Candidates with experience in native development (Swift/Kotlin), mobile testing frameworks, CI/CD processes, or JSI libraries will have a competitive edge.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of our mobile application using React Native and Expo (EAS).
- Architect and enhance a high-performance Design System utilizing TypeScript and component API best practices, ensuring reusability, clear styling tokens, and comprehensive documentation (e.g., Storybook).
- Develop and maintain the core Network Layer, focusing on efficient data fetching, error handling, caching strategies (using React Query or similar), and data transformation.
- Drive app performance optimization by reducing re-renders, minimizing Bridge traffic, leveraging JSI for smooth animations, and optimizing startup times to ensure a consistent 60 FPS experience.
- Take full ownership of core mobile features from concept through deployment, ensuring high quality and reliability.
- Contribute to maintaining high code quality through rigorous peer reviews, knowledge sharing, and adherence to best practices.
