About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior React Native Developer to join our engineering team as an early technical hire. This role offers a unique opportunity to take full ownership of the core mobile product, shaping its technical foundation from the ground up. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our mobile application, ensuring it remains performant, scalable, and user-centric. As a key contributor, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement innovative features, optimize app performance, and contribute to the overall product strategy. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in software development, with at least three years dedicated to React Native and cross-platform mobile app development. You should possess expert proficiency in React Native core principles, Expo (including EAS), and TypeScript, along with modern state management libraries such as Jotai, Zustand, or Redux. Proven experience in profiling and optimizing complex mobile applications is essential, including familiarity with tools like React Profiler and Flipper to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks. Additionally, you should have extensive experience architecting scalable Design Systems focusing on modularity and performance, as well as designing and managing robust network and data-fetching layers using tools like Tanstack Query, SWR, or Apollo. Strong product sense, user-centric design approach, and proficiency in backend integrations (REST API) and cloud platforms such as Firebase, Supabase, or GCP are also required. Bonus points are given for experience with native development (Swift/Kotlin), mobile testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and familiarity with JSI libraries like Reanimated v2+.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of our mobile application utilizing React Native and Expo (EAS), ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Architect and enhance a comprehensive Design System using TypeScript, emphasizing component reusability, clear styling tokens, and thorough documentation through tools like Storybook.
- Develop and maintain the core network layer, implementing efficient data fetching, robust error handling, intelligent caching strategies, and data transformation to ensure seamless user experience.
- Drive continuous app performance optimization by reducing re-renders, minimizing bridge traffic, leveraging JSI for smooth animations, and optimizing startup times to deliver a consistent 60 FPS experience.
- Take full ownership of core mobile features from conception through deployment, ensuring timely delivery and high quality.
- Contribute to maintaining high code quality standards through rigorous peer reviews, knowledge sharing, and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver innovative features aligned with user needs and business goals.
