About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled React Native Mobile Developer to join our team as an early technical hire. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to shape the technical foundation of our core mobile product, contributing significantly to our growth trajectory. As a key member of our engineering team, you will take ownership of the development and optimization of our mobile application, ensuring high performance, scalability, and a superior user experience. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to build robust features, implement best practices, and drive innovation in our platform. This position is ideal for a seasoned developer passionate about mobile technology, eager to work in a fast-paced environment, and committed to delivering impactful solutions that empower entrepreneurs worldwide.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mobile development with the following qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3+ years dedicated to React Native for cross-platform mobile applications.
- Expertise in React Native core principles, Expo (including EAS), and TypeScript, coupled with modern state management libraries such as Jotai, Zustand, or Redux.
- Proven experience in profiling and optimizing complex mobile applications, utilizing tools like React Profiler and Flipper to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Deep understanding of architecting and building scalable, modular Design Systems focused on performance and reusability.
- Extensive experience managing network and data fetching layers, including advanced use of state management for server data, optimistic UI updates, and robust retry/caching strategies using libraries like Tanstack Query, SWR, or Apollo.
- Strong product sense with a focus on creating user-centric, intuitive interfaces.
- Proficiency in backend integrations with REST APIs and familiarity with cloud platforms such as Firebase, Supabase, or Google Cloud Platform.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of the mobile application using React Native and Expo (EAS).
- Architecting and enhancing a high-performance Design System, ensuring component reusability, clear styling tokens, and comprehensive documentation, for example, using Storybook.
- Developing and maintaining the core network layer, optimizing data fetching, error handling, caching strategies, and data transformation processes to ensure seamless performance.
- Driving app performance optimization by reducing re-renders, minimizing bridge traffic, leveraging JSI for smooth animations, and optimizing startup times for a consistent 60 FPS experience.
- Taking full ownership of core mobile features, from conception through deployment, ensuring timely delivery and high quality.
- Contributing to code quality through rigorous peer reviews, knowledge sharing, and adherence to best practices.
