Position Summary
The HR Manager is responsible for the day-to-day execution of HR operations, ensuring policies and programs are implemented effectively. This role supports recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and performance management while promoting a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Lead full-cycle recruitment, partnering with hiring managers to attract and hire top talent.
- Manage job postings and candidate pipeline using ATS (ADP, LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, etc.).
- Coordinate onboarding, ensuring new hires are prepared and integrated successfully.
- Administer Employee offboarding process, including return of equipment, final pay coordination, and documentation
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Serve as primary contact for employee inquiries, grievances, and workplace concerns.
- Support conflict resolution, investigations, and offboarding processes.
- Assist HR Director in handling employee investigations, documentation and resolutions strategies.
- Promote employee engagement initiatives and a positive work environment.
Performance Management & Development
- Support annual performance review cycles, goal setting, and feedback processes.
- Identify skill gaps and organize training sessions to enhance employee development.
Compensation & Benefits
- Administer benefits programs, ensuring accurate enrollment and compliance.
- Liaise with Payroll and Finance to process transactions (new hires, terminations, changes).
- Audit and report on employee Vacation, leave and work schedule, ensuring
- Provide employees with guidance on compensation and benefits inquiries.
- Track and manage employee leave cases (ex. Parental leave, disability, sick leave)
- Track benefits usage and cost
HR Policy, Compliance & Reporting
- Enforce HR policies and maintain compliance with U.S. and Canadian labor laws
- Oversee compliance training initiatives for managers and employees.
- Maintain employee records in ADP and prepare HR metrics reports (turnover, headcount, absenteeism).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Payroll, Finance, and Marketing on HR-related processes and communications.
- Support audits and compliance checks by ensuring data accuracy.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of HR generalist/management experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. and Canadian labor laws and HR compliance.
- Proficiency with HRIS (ADP) and Applicant Tracking Systems.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive employee matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Bilingual in French and English if the role is based in Canada.
