About the role

Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for creating timely and accurate financial statements, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and special financial projects.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reports directly to the Controller
  • Interacts as required with other division office personnel and staff
  • Prepare journal entries on a monthly basis.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Process non accounts receivable cash receipts.
  • Process refunds.
  • Provide a wide variety of customer service for Customer and field locations.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 0 - 5 years of previous Accounting experience
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments
  • Ability to use a computer and possess an understanding of computer software including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work on many different projects at one time
  • Ability work independently and without direct supervision
  • Understand the importance of following standardized procedures
  • Maintain professional appearance
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Possess an organized and disciplined personality
  • A positive attitude who can take direction
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Willingness to "go the extra mile" to achieve division sales goals and objectives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles

Physical Demands

  • Lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently and frequently moving small objects.
  • Frequently sitting for long periods of time
  • Walking or standing occasionally
  • This position works mostly indoors going outdoors may be frequently required
  • Must have manual use of hands and vision to use computer constantly
