Job responsibilities:
1 Review the Clinician prescription and discuss with the patient / attendant, if required.
2 Take detailed history wherever necessary.
3 Decide appropriate investigation in consultation with referring doctor, in case of difference in opinion.
4 Decide use of contrast / sedation wherever necessary and if required do it in consultation with referring doctor.
5 Monitor the Investigation / Scan process is as per protocol.
6 Study the clinical history, previous lab and imaging record of the patient if available.
7 Study the images and preparing interpretation / report as per protocol.
8 Where required, advice further investigation in consultation with referring doctor, before the patient leaves the centre so that a visit of the patient can be saved.
9 Ensure that the reports are ready in time.
10 Communicate with referring clinicians.
11 Ensure that the referring doctor of patient is informed of critical / urgent cases.
12 Do follow up of patients wherever required as per protocol.
13 Ensure proper patient care and speedy disposal of patients.
14 Ensure radiation safety norms are followed and implemented for patient safety.
15 To be familiar with recognizing and managing adverse reactions of contrast media, radiopharmaceuticals, drugs, etc. used during imaging procedures
16 Implemented radiation dose reduction techniques wherever applicable to reduce radiation exposure to patients without compromising on the investigation and film quality.
17 Organise clinical meeting to discuss interesting / difficult cases, feedback from referrer and any error or inconsistency revealed by both internal and external feedback / observations.
18 Maintaining the quality of images and the reports
19 Ensure that all emergency drugs and equipment for treating adverse contrast reaction are maintained.
20 Obtain patient consent for the therupaticaland/ or special procedure
21 Specify appropriate patient preparation
22 Responsible for preparation and maintenance of procedures, quality and safety.
