Role Description The Radiation Safety Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Noida, responsible for ensuring safe handling and use of radiation sources within the facility. This role includes developing, implementing, and maintaining radiation safety programs and procedures, as well as monitoring compliance with regulatory and company standards. Daily tasks involve overseeing dosimetry programs, maintaining records, conducting radiation surveys, and managing the storage, use, and disposal of radioactive materials when applicable. The Radiation Safety Officer will train team members on radiation protection practices, perform risk assessments, support audits and inspections, and collaborate with management to address safety issues and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Radiation Safety and Health Physics, with practical experience in applying safety protocols.
- Hands-on experience with Dosimetry, including monitoring, interpretation of dose reports, and exposure control.
- Knowledge of Radiation and Radioactive Materials, including safe handling, storage, transport, and disposal procedures.
- Understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and standards related to radiation protection and workplace safety.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physics, Health Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Radiological Science, or a related field.
- Prior experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or laboratory environment involving radiation sources is preferred.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to conduct trainings, communicate safety guidelines clearly, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Certification or formal training as a Radiation Safety Officer, where applicable, is an advantage.
