About the role
As an L1 AWS Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing first-level technical support for AWS-based solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to EC2 instances, S3 buckets, VPC, IAM, and other AWS services. You will also monitor cloud environments, respond to alerts, and ensure optimal performance and security.
Key Responsibilities
Incident Management
Receive and log incident tickets related to AWS services
Troubleshoot and resolve basic AWS-related issues
Escalate complex problems to higher-level support teams
Monitoring & Alerting
Monitor AWS performance and availability
Respond to alerts and take corrective actions
Deployment & Configuration
Deploy and configure AWS resources based on predefined templates
Ensure proper cloud resource management
Backup & Recovery
Perform regular backups and restore operations
Maintain data integrity and disaster recovery plans
Cost Optimization
Identify opportunities to optimize AWS resource usage
Suggest cost-effective solutions for cloud infrastructure
Knowledge Base Management
Document troubleshooting steps and solutions
Contribute to internal knowledge base articles
Customer Interaction
Communicate effectively with customers to understand their issues
Provide clear and concise explanations of technical resolutions
Security & Compliance
Follow AWS security best practices and policies
Identify and report potential security threats
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong understanding of AWS core services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, etc.)
Basic knowledge of troubleshooting and debugging techniques
Familiarity with command-line interfaces (CLI) and scripting (Bash, PowerShell)
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to work both independently and in a team
Customer-focused mindset and ability to handle support queries
Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields
Technical Skills Required: AWS core services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM), troubleshooting, command-line interfaces, scripting (Bash, PowerShell), deployment, configuration, backup, recovery, cost optimization
Preferred Certifications
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (Preferred but not mandatory)
