R.J. Corman Railroad serves all seven North American major railroads, many regional and short line railroads, and dozens of rail-related industries. Services include owning and operating nineteen short lines, providing emergency rail services associated with derailments and natural disasters, switching, track construction, track material distribution, signal design/construction, building switching locomotives, and operating a dinner train.

Manage multiple non‑emergency railroad construction projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.

Review awarded contracts to fully understand project terms, conditions, and requirements.

Lead the full project lifecycle: planning, executing, controlling, and closing.

Organize and assess resources, coordinate schedules, and ensure efficient use of labor, equipment, and materials.

Create and maintain a detailed production schedule aligned with project estimates; update weekly to reflect changes.

Track project progress, maintain documentation, and report results to leadership and stakeholders.

Communicate daily with supervisors regarding production changes, crew utilization, scheduling, and project needs.

Effectively communicate project expectations, updates, and training requirements to team members and stakeholders.

Provide positive support to field personnel, Contracted Services, and management teams.

Collaborate with inter‑company departments, including IT, accounting, and operations, to support project success.

Perform clerical and administrative duties as needed to support project operations.

Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure invoice accuracy and proper cost tracking.

Assess current administrative tools and business processes to identify areas for improvement and support automation initiatives.

Maintain organizational effectiveness by supporting strategic plans related to information technologies and operational systems.

Recommend IT strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating outcomes, identifying problems, and anticipating future requirements.

Work with IT teams to support development or implementation of new software tools or systems that enhance project efficiency.

Ensure all work complies with company standards, client requirements, and applicable regulations.

Support quality control processes and ensure project deliverables meet technical and contractual specifications.

Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.

Travel extensively to project sites, client meetings, and field operations as needed.

Travel may include overnight stays and extended periods away from home depending on project demands.

Experience in construction project management; railroad or heavy civil experience preferred.

Strong organizational, scheduling, and communication skills.
