Role Description The R&D Spices role at Garni Foods is a full-time, on-site position based in Alwar. The role involves developing and improving spice blends, herbs, and related products through formulation, sensory evaluation, and iterative testing. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting research on ingredients and processing methods, collaborating with quality and production teams, and ensuring products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The role also includes documenting formulations and trials, analyzing customer and market feedback, and supporting packaging and labeling decisions for new and existing products. The individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and maintain consistency across the product portfolio.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of food science, spice and herb functionality, and product development methodologies.
- Experience with sensory evaluation, quality control procedures, and basic laboratory techniques in a food or FMCG environment.
- Ability to conduct market and consumer research, analyze data, and translate insights into practical product improvements.
- Proficiency in documentation, recipe standardization, and maintaining accurate records of trials and formulations.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations, FSSAI or relevant standards, and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with production, procurement, and packaging teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Agronomy, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in R&D for spices, seasonings, or related food products is an advantage.
