We are expanding our R&D team and are looking for a motivated engineer to contribute to the development of next-generation medical devices.
Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic R&D Specialist with a strong background in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering. The ideal candidate will be involved in the complete product development cycle—from concept generation and CAD design to prototyping, testing, documentation, and manufacturing support. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex engineering challenges and developing innovative medical technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for medical devices.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Prepare engineering drawings in accordance with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) standards.
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, and design optimization.
- Develop prototypes using 3D printing, CNC machining, and other manufacturing processes.
- Conduct product testing, validation, and performance evaluation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs.
- Troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues and implement engineering improvements.
- Maintain complete technical documentation, including BOMs, design reports, and revision history.
- Support product transfer from R&D to production while ensuring design quality and manufacturability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with SolidWorks.
- Good understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.
- Basic knowledge of CNC machining and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with product development, prototyping, and design validation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with medical device design and development.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems.
- Experience with FEA or simulation tools is an advantage.
- Knowledge of ISO 13485 and medical device development practices is a plus.
