🎯 Role Overview
We are hiring a hands-on R&D Lead to build and scale next-generation amphibious drone platforms across air and water.
This is a mission-critical leadership role — you will own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept to flight to manufacturing. We are looking for someone who has actually built and flown real UAV/AUV products, not just worked on simulations or research.
You will work directly with the Founder / CEO / CTO to define product direction and execution strategy.
🧩 Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end R&D and product development for amphibious drone systems
- Lead design across full stack:
- 👉 Airframe → Propulsion → Electronics → Firmware → Ground Control Station
- Work hands-on with PX4 flight stack (configuration, tuning, custom modes)
- Drive rapid prototyping, testing, and iteration cycles
- Lead and scale a high-performance engineering team
- Ensure transition from prototype → manufacturing → product deployment
- Conduct real-world flight testing and validation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across mechanical, electronics, and software
✅ Must-Have Requirements
- 6–8 years of experience in UAV / AUV / robotics product development
- Must have successfully built and shipped a flying product
- Strong understanding of the complete drone tech stack
- Hands-on experience with PX4 flight stack
- Active flying experience (real-world UAV operations, not just simulation)
- Proven experience in building and leading engineering teams
- Strong startup mindset — speed, ownership, and execution under constraints
- Experience managing manufacturing-to-product lifecycle
⭐ Good to Have
- Experience with amphibious / multi-domain vehicles (air + water)
- Exposure to AUVs, subsea systems, or marine robotics
- Contributor to PX4 / ArduPilot open-source ecosystem
- Prior experience as a CTO / Tech Lead in a drone startup
