Job details:
About Quantum SMT Technologies: Quantum SMT Technologies Pvt Ltd is a Gurugram-based company specializing in the design and manufacture of Functional Circuit Testing (FCT) machines for the automotive electronics industry. We build custom test solutions for components like LED tail lamps and other electronic assemblies used in vehicles. We're looking to expand our in-house product development capabilities.
Role Overview: We are looking for a fresher or early-career R&D Engineer to join our product development team. This person will work on designing electronics hardware — particularly PCBs — for products that will be integrated into our testing machines. Think vision camera modules, custom sensor boards, signal conditioning circuits, and similar embedded products. This is a ground-up product development role, not a maintenance role — you'll get to take ideas from concept to working hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop PCB schematics and layouts for new products such as vision cameras, sensor modules, and interface boards used in FCT machines.
- Select appropriate electronic components (microcontrollers, op-amps, connectors, power regulators, etc.) based on design requirements.
- Prototype, test, and debug new circuit designs in the lab.
- Work with mechanical and software teams to ensure proper integration of electronic modules into larger machine assemblies.
- Create and maintain design documentation including BOMs, schematics, assembly drawings, and test procedures.
- Research new technologies and components that could improve our product offerings (e.g., image sensors, communication protocols like SPI/I2C/UART, industrial interfaces).
- Support the production team during initial manufacturing runs of new products.
- Coordinate with external PCB fabrication and assembly vendors.
Required Qualifications:
- B.Tech / B.E. in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, or Electrical Engineering (2024/2025/2026 graduates welcome).
- Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with at least one PCB design tool — Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle, or OrCAD.
- Basic knowledge of microcontrollers (Arduino, STM32, ESP32, or similar).
- Familiarity with common communication protocols: SPI, I2C, UART, RS485.
- Ability to read datasheets and application notes independently.
- Good soldering skills and comfort working with lab equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyzer).
Nice to Have:
- Any personal or college projects involving embedded systems or PCB design.
- Exposure to image processing or machine vision concepts.
- Knowledge of EMC/EMI considerations in PCB design.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling tools (SolidWorks, Fusion 360) for enclosure design.
- Basic FPGA exposure.
What You'll Get:
- A chance to build real products from scratch, not just maintain existing ones.
- Mentorship from experienced engineers working in automotive electronics testing.
- Exposure to the full product development lifecycle — concept, design, prototyping, testing, and production.
Location: Gurugram, Haryana (on-site). Employment Type: Full-time. Experience: 0–2 years (freshers with strong project portfolios strongly encouraged to apply).
To apply, please share your CV along with a brief description or links to any PCB design or embedded projects you have worked on (college projects count!).
