What’s The Role
Are you looking for an opportunity to develop your understanding on changes and updates in accounting standards (both IFRS and Ind AS) & group policies (Group Financial Reporting Manual), and its impact on group, internal & statutory financial reporting and closing activities?
If yes, then this R&A Financial Accounting and Controlling (FAC) Reporting Analyst role could be the one you were looking for. Be part of the Downstream (DS) R&A FAC team and help us transform the way we manage the financials of Shell India Markets Private Limited (SIMPL).
If you are driven by passion to enhance business knowledge and keep updated on business change(s), this is a role that will help you achieving them through closing activities & financial analysis; and frequent discussion & collaboration with corporate / business finance.
Within this organization, we are a cluster of teams responsible for end to end Group Reporting activities.
This role of Reporting Analyst is to ensure that all reporting activities & responsibilities are performed in an accurate timely and efficient manner. He or she will be handling the Lease accounting of SIMPL and will be the S4 Group Submitter for Raj Petro Specialities (acquired in 2025 )
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage the book close activities in terms of Group reporting (both internal and external) & fixed assets reporting to meet the WCC timelines
- Review and approve financial controls
- Financial accounting and reporting tasks (including but not limited to SFS submission)
- Ensure compliance to internal control and assurance activities
- Perform thorough analysis of unique and complex accounting issues for due diligence and proper accounting treatment.
- Managing audit queries for the areas handled
- Creating and maintaining leases in Powerplan
- Advising the business on any queries related to IFRS 16
- Handling the queries from stakeholders ( Business /auditors /Tax)
- Publishing monthly dashboards related to leases
What You Bring
- Prior experience of group submission
- A professional qualification like CA Fresher/CMA will be an added advantage
- Excellent knowledge in practical application of accounting and auditing standards
- Understanding of corporate structure and governance processes.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Applications especially Excel.
- Working knowledge & experience in SAP and S4 GR.
- Good analytical skills, meticulous and able to work independently & prioritize well.
- Sound knowledge of IFRS ( particularly IFRS16 for leases )
- Results oriented, fast paced, resourceful , team player and proactive.
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills
- Resilient and able to deliver under pressure.
