The Firm
Teesta Investment is a proprietary high-frequency trading (HFT) and market-making firm in digital assets, built on speed, precision, patience, and automation. We design automated systems that trade 24×7 across global crypto markets, bringing liquidity and efficiency wherever we operate.
Born in India, we've grown into a global trading firm by combining technology, quantitative research, and deep market intuition. Every strategy we deploy is backed by rigorous research, engineering excellence, and continuous experimentation.
At Teesta, researchers don't just build models—they solve some of the most challenging problems in financial markets and see their ideas tested in live trading environments.
The Team
Our Quantitative Research team sits at the core of our trading business.
We study market behaviour, identify inefficiencies, develop predictive models, and design systematic trading strategies across centralized and decentralized crypto markets. Researchers work closely with software engineers and trading infrastructure teams to transform ideas into production-ready systems that operate at scale.
This is a collaborative, research-driven environment where curiosity, experimentation, and data-driven thinking are valued above assumptions.
The Role
As a Quantitative Researcher, you'll work on discovering new sources of alpha, understanding market microstructure, and developing systematic trading strategies that compete in some of the world's fastest financial markets.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving difficult mathematical problems, working with large datasets, and validating ideas through rigorous experimentation.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Research and develop systematic trading strategies across cryptocurrency markets.
- Analyze market microstructure and identify exploitable trading opportunities.
- Build statistical models using large-scale market and trading data.
- Design robust backtesting frameworks to validate trading hypotheses.
- Work closely with software engineers to deploy research into live production systems.
- Monitor strategy performance, evaluate execution quality, and continuously improve models.
- Develop analytical tools to support research, simulation, and performance attribution.
- Contribute to risk management by identifying potential weaknesses and improving strategy robustness.
- Collaborate with traders, researchers, and engineers to solve complex quantitative problems.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for exceptional problem solvers who enjoy applying mathematics, statistics, and computer science to real-world financial markets.
You Should Have
- A Master's or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or another highly quantitative discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in quantitative research, systematic trading, market making, or a related quantitative role.
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with C++, Rust, Go, MATLAB, or R.
- Excellent understanding of probability, statistics, optimization, linear algebra, and numerical methods.
- Experience working with large datasets and building quantitative models.
- Familiarity with market microstructure and Tick-by-Tick (TBT) market data is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to independently investigate complex problems.
- A research mindset with the curiosity to challenge assumptions and continuously improve ideas.
Why Join Teesta
At Teesta, you'll work on real trading problems where research has a direct impact on production systems.
You'll collaborate with experienced researchers and engineers, own projects end-to-end, and see your ideas evaluated in live markets rather than academic simulations.
We value intellectual curiosity, independent thinking, and continuous learning. If you enjoy solving difficult quantitative problems and thrive in environments where research directly drives business outcomes, you'll feel at home here.
