Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming drone components and assembled drone systems. The role involves thorough inspection at incoming and post-assembly stages, along with accurate documentation to maintain quality standards and traceability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inward Material Inspection:
- Inspect incoming drone components such as motors, propellers, ESCs, flight controllers, batteries, frames, sensors, wiring, and other parts
- Inspect fabricated mechanical components (sheet metal parts, machined parts, brackets, frames) for dimensional accuracy, finish, and compliance with drawings
- Verify supplier documents, test certificates, and compliance with specifications
- Check for physical damage, dimensional accuracy, and basic electrical integrity
- Identify and report non-conforming materials and coordinate with suppliers/procurement
- Maintain inward inspection records and reports
2. Post-Assembly (Final) Inspection:
- Inspect assembled drones for mechanical, electrical, and overall build quality
- Perform checks on wiring, soldering, connectors, fitment, and structural integrity
- Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional checks (power-on test, motor rotation, sensor response, basic calibration readiness)
- Validate configuration/firmware (if applicable)
- Approve or reject products based on defined quality standards
- Coordinate with production teams for defect correction
3. Documentation & Record Keeping:
- Maintain inspection reports, checklists, and quality records for both inward and final inspection
- Record test results, calibration data, and inspection outcomes
- Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for defective parts or assemblies
- Ensure traceability of components and finished products
- Support internal/external audits with proper documentation
4. Quality Compliance & Improvement:
- Ensure adherence to company quality standards and drone safety requirements
- Follow inspection procedures and quality control processes
- Assist in root cause analysis of defects and suggest corrective/preventive actions
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Diploma / ITI / Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field
- 1–3 years of experience in quality inspection (electronics, manufacturing, fabrication, or UAV/drone preferred)
- Basic understanding of drone components and mechanical fabrication
- Knowledge of measuring tools (vernier caliper, micrometer, gauges) and basic electrical testing tools (multimeter, etc.)
- Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
Preferred:
- Experience in drone/UAV assembly, testing, or inspection
- Familiarity with fabricated parts inspection and GD&T basics
- Knowledge of quality standards (ISO or similar) and safety practices
