Job Summary:
The Quality Head will be responsible for leading and managing the overall Quality Management System (QMS) of the organization to ensure product quality, process excellence, and customer satisfaction. The role involves implementation and maintenance of IATF 16949, customer quality requirements, internal audits, supplier quality management, and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
Candidates from the Fasteners industry will be given preference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the company’s overall Quality Assurance & Quality Control functions.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO standards, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Monitor product quality at all stages of manufacturing and ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
- Handle customer complaints, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and customer audits.
- Conduct and supervise internal audits, process audits, product audits, and system audits.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5 Why, Fishbone, Poka-Yoke, SPC, etc.
- Ensure proper implementation of Automotive Core Tools:
- APQP
- PPAP
- FMEA
- MSA
- SPC
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, sales, and dispatch teams for quality-related improvements.
- Manage supplier quality performance and vendor development activities.
- Monitor rejection trends, customer PPM, in-process rejection, and implement improvement plans.
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of measuring and testing equipment.
- Prepare MIS reports, quality dashboards, and present performance reviews to management.
- Train and develop team members on quality systems, standards, and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement culture across the organization.
Qualifications & Experience:
- B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in Quality Management within the Fasteners, Automotive, Forging, or Manufacturing Industry.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and automotive quality systems.
- Excellent understanding of Automotive Core Tools and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in handling OEM customers and customer audits.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of customer-specific requirements (CSR).
- Proficiency in quality documentation, audit management, and reporting systems.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Industry Background:
Candidates from the Fasteners Industry will be highly preferred. Candidates from Fasteners Industries with strong quality management experience may also apply.
