Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Quality Engineer Trainee role based in Bengaluru. The trainee will assist in monitoring product quality on the shop floor, conducting basic inspections and measurements, and recording quality data. Day-to-day responsibilities include supporting quality checks for machining and sheet metal operations, documenting nonconformities, and helping implement corrective and preventive actions under guidance. The role involves learning and applying quality procedures, assisting in preparing inspection reports, and maintaining quality records. The trainee will collaborate with production, design, and senior quality team members to understand specifications, improve processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Foundational understanding of Quality Engineering and Product Quality, with interest in applying these concepts in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic knowledge or coursework related to Quality Control and Quality Assurance, including inspection methods and use of measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Awareness of Quality Management principles, such as documentation, standard operating procedures, and continual improvement practices.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field (final-year students or recent graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Strong attention to detail, data recording accuracy, and willingness to learn shop floor practices and safety norms.
- Ability to read basic engineering drawings and specifications, or readiness to learn quickly.
- Effective communication skills, teamwork orientation, and openness to guidance and feedback from senior engineers.
- Familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Word) for report preparation and data entry; exposure to basic quality tools (5S, 5 Whys, checklists) is an advantage.
