Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Quality Engineer – In Process (Power Cables), based at the Relemac Technologies facility in Sonipat. The Quality Engineer will monitor and control in-process quality parameters on the shop floor for power cable manufacturing, ensuring adherence to product specifications, standards, and customer requirements. Daily tasks include performing in-process inspections and tests, recording and analyzing process data, identifying non-conformities, and coordinating immediate corrective and preventive actions with production teams. The role involves reviewing and updating in-process quality checklists, working instructions, and sampling plans, as well as supporting internal and external audits related to product and process quality. The Quality Engineer will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, reduce defects and rework, and support training of operators and technicians in quality best practices.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Quality Engineering and Product Quality, with experience in in-process inspection and testing for power cables or related manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with Quality Control activities, including sampling, data recording, use of measuring instruments, and interpretation of test results.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance practices, such as documentation control, compliance with relevant standards, and support for internal and external audits.
- Understanding of Quality Management principles, including root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., 5S, Kaizen).
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline, or equivalent technical qualification.
- Familiarity with cable manufacturing processes, applicable IS/IEC standards, and safety requirements is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in basic data analysis and report preparation, with attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively on the shop floor, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and manage multiple priorities in a high-paced production environment.
